  • Balmoral Castle

    Balmoral Castle has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852.

    Visitors can experience the beautiful gardens, take a guided tour of the house, or plan a special expedition with a guide who will take you on a tour of the estate in a Landrover.

  • Scone Palace

    Visit the iconic crowning place of Scottish kings.

    Scone Palace breathes history. Today it is home to the Earls of Mansfield but 1,500 years ago it was the capital of the Pictish kingdom. It was also home to the famous Stone of Destiny which can now be found at the Perth Museum.

  • Glamis Castle

    Explore the majestic castle and stunning gardens which are steeped in history spanning more than 600 years.

    Once host to Mary, Queen of Scots, Glamis is said to have inspired one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays, Macbeth.

    Visitors can also experience the spectacular gardens, which like the castle, are steeped in history. For instance, the Italian Garden was lovingly laid out in 1910 by Countess Cecilia, wife of the 14th Earl and mother to HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.

  • Gin Tasting at Persie

    For gin lovers, Persie Distillery is worth a visit.

    The distillery is a small, family-owned business just north of Blairgowrie in Highland Perthshire.

    We recommend their Liquid Tour where guests try various samples with a range of mixers and garnishes, plus – if you wish – a Red Snapper cocktail taster, Dog Days special edition, sloe gin and raspberry gin. After the tasting, go behind the scenes on a guided tour, where you can learn about their recipe development, as well as distilling and bottling.

  • Hiking the cateran trail

    Follow in the footsteps of the infamous Caterans as you walk through the glens of Perthshire and Angus.

    The Cateran Trail is a fully waymarked circuit through the Perthshire and Angus glens in the heart of Scotland. Many of these routes follow the same ones used by the Caterans – fearsome cattle thieves who raided Strathardle, Glenshee and Glen Isla from the Middle Ages to the 17th century. This trail usually takes 4-5 days, but we can arrange for you to be dropped off and collected each day so that you can finish each day in the comfort of Ericht West Grange.
